MY BODYWORK STORY:

The work I do is informed by my own recovery and healing from CPTSD, my journey of recovering my singing voice, and my own healing of my creative self.

I spent most of my early years, into my early 30s, barely relating to my body. When I discovered yoga in my late twenties, that was the beginning of my healing journey. I became a yoga teacher, studying therapeutic yoga, which eventually ended up with me beginning massage school in Asheville, NC. I received and gave massages every day for a year. My system began to change in ways I had not anticipated from the healing touch. Because I was in school, I was also required to get massages from professionals at least once a month, if not more. I had never invested in bodywork before because I considered it too expensive and superfluous. Those days were over. My body changed dramatically due to the massage work. I knew that healing touch was one of the majors keys for me in beginning to heal.

I found Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy and Inner Body yoga through the work of Todd Jackson in Portland, OR in 2019. I have now been working with this system of study for more than three years. I also began teaching voice (singing) and returning to the intensive study of singing after a hiatus in my early 30s.

Informed by my years of inner study, yoga, meditation, Qi Gong practice, and my singing practice, the work that I do is a heart-centered deep listening to your system, in an effort to be with you instead of aiming to fix you. Issues do get resolved while working through this compassionate lens, and things change in ways we may never be able to imagine. I would describe what I do as therapeutic in nature, using a combination of biodynamic craniosacral, trigger point, cupping, shiatsu, and deep tissue. I am passionate about providing my clients tools to help them feel better in their bodies on a day-to-day basis, and the work that I do is a collaboration between me and my clients.

I look forward to working with you!
